

Introduction
The conditions below explain the rights, obligations and responsibilities of all parties to this
Agreement. Where we use the word “you” or “your” it means the customer: “we”, “us”, or
“our”, means the White Van Man Removals. These terms and conditions can be varied or
amended subject to prior written agreement.
1. Our quotation
• Prices are worked out by cubic metre and weight in kg. You will be charged for whatever
is the greatest amount.
The general weight allowance is 100kg per cubic metre. Loads that exceed this maximum will
be subject to an extra charge at the equivalent cubic metre rate.
For example: a customer with a load that is 3 cubic metres with a weight of 300kg will pay for 3
cubic metres. A customer with a load of 3 cubic metres with a weight of 600kg will pay for 6
cubic metres.
Weight scales will be used to check weight at the time of pick up.
• We may change the price or make additional charges if certain circumstances are found to
apply that have not been agreed prior to the goods being collected/delivered by us in writing.
These include
(i) We have to collect or deliver goods, at your request, above the ground floor and upper
first floor
(ii) The stairs, lifts, doorways etc are not adequate for the items to pass through without
structural alteration taking place.
(iii) The approach/road/drive is unsuitable for our vehicles to load and unload within 20
metres of the doorway.
(iv) We have to pay parking, toll or other fees or charges in order to carry out services on
your behalf.
(v) Where we have to re-package/re-box items due to insufficient packing.
• If your load is found to be over the allowance or volume is more than arranged there is
no guarantee that we can take your load on the agreed journey and may have to arranged
another delivery slot.
2. Work not included in the quotation
• Unless agreed by us in writing we will not:
i. Dismantle or assemble flat pack furniture, or other fitments or fittings.
ii. Disconnect, re-connect, dismantle or re-assemble appliances, fixtures fittings or
equipment.
iii. Move items from a loft, unless properly lit and floored and safe access is provided.
3. Your responsibility
• It will be your sole responsibility to:
- Be present or represented during the collection and delivery of the removal.
2. To provide a full inventory of each item/box we will be moving for you.
3. Make sure that all items/boxes are numbered according to the inventory and clearly
labelled with your name and destination.
4. We will not be held responsible for any items not accounted for if the above is not
adhered to.
5. Take all reasonable steps to ensure that nothing that should be removed is left behind
and that nothing that should be left behind is taken away.
6. Arrange proper protection for goods left in unoccupied or unattended premises, or
where other people such as
7. (but not limited to) tenants or workmen are, or will be present.
8. Make sure that all items/boxes are adequately wrapped/packed and protected.
9. Make sure that each suitcase/box packed by you (i.e. not flat pack or store bought items
that are delivered in boxes) weighs no more than 25kg in weight.
10. Prepare and stabilise all appliances or electronic equipment prior to their removal.
11. The following should not be submitted for removal or storage:
(a) Jewellery, watches, trinkets, precious stones or metals, money, deeds, securities, stamps,
coins, or goods or
collections of any similar kind.
(b) Prohibited or stolen goods, drugs, potentially dangerous, damaging or explosive items,
including `gas bottles,
aerosols, paints, firearms and ammunition.
(c) Plants or goods likely to encourage vermin or other pests or to cause infestation.
(d) Refrigerated or frozen food or drink.
(e) Any animals and their cages or tanks including pets, birds or fish.
(f) Goods which require special licence or government permission for export or import.
Such goods will not be removed by us except with our prior written agreement. In the event
that we do remove
12. Empty properly defrost and clean refrigerators and deep freezers. We are not
responsible for the contents.
13. Provide us with a contact address/phone numbers for correspondence during removal
transit and/or storage of goods.
14. Arrange an alternative delivery/collection point if access to the original
delivery/collection point is unsuitable for our vehicle.
4. Delays in Transit
• Other then by reason of our negligence, we will not be liable for delays in transit.
• If through no fault of ours we are unable to deliver your goods, we will take them into
store. The contract
will then be fulfilled and any additional service(s), including storage and delivery, will be at
your expense.
5. Our responsibility
• It is our responsibility to deliver your goods to you or produce them for you to collect,
undamaged. By “undamaged” we mean in the same condition as they were in at the time
when they were loaded into the removal vehicle or otherwise prepared for storage.
6. Payment
• Unless otherwise agreed by us in writing:
i. Payment is required by cleared funds before the removal takes place or before the
storage period commences.
ii. You may not withhold any part of the agreed price.
iii. We will require a deposit of at least 50% of the quoted price of the removal on
confirmation of booking to hold space in the lorry. We accept payment by cheque, cash or
bankers draft or by direct transfer into our bank account.
